Supporting the Light the Tower Collective 

As supporters of North Texas Athletics, we love “Lighting the Tower” because it means another Mean Green victory. Many components go into winning, but the most important ingredient is always the talent on the field and starting this fall, one of the major incentives in attracting and keeping these student-athletes will be the presence of a “Collective” providing financial support for the use of their name, image and likeness. 

Why is it so important for Mean Green fans support the Collective? 

• Entering the American Conference in 2023 will require the recruitment and retention of top level athletes to be competitive at the top of the conference 
• Financial resources will be available to student-athletes through Collectives already existing at these other institutions 
• The ability to retain or hire successful head or assistant coaches will be difficult without a healthy Collective to support their program 

In our opinion, as well as that of current head coaches, the ability to fund this program is a major priority for the successful future of the athletic program at North Texas. 

To be effective, the Collective needs to raise sufficient funds to annually fund NIL contracts with the top student-athletes at the University of North Texas. The desired goal is to get donations and pledges to cover the first three years of operation to establish the program and give athletes confidence in its’ perpetuity.
